About P. Ricardo de Paiva e Souza
Social Scientist and PhD in Sociology; University Professor (2015 to 2020). I worked for six years (2004-2010) in the Latin America and Caribbean Program of Salve the Children Sweden, where I was responsible for the thematic areas of Armed Conflicts and Disasters, as well as acting as Advisor for Emergencies of that organization in Latin America and the Caribbean. Since then, I have worked on these topics as a consultant, advisor and trainer with national (Brazil) and international organizations (especially the UNDP Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean, where I am a member of the Associate Experts Group). The Sphere themes have been constant content of my work for the last 20 years. I worked on a project in the area of education, at the Getúlio Vargas Foundation, as leader of the pedagogical team. I am currently the Executive Secretary of Education for the municipality of Camaragibe-PE, as well as a member of the technical team at Instituto Rodolfo and an independent consultant in Disaster Risk Management and management and evaluation of public policies and social projects.
(Cientista Social e Doutor em Sociologia; Professor universitário (2015 a 2020). Trabalhei por seis anos (2004-2010) no Programa para a América Latina e Caribe de Salve the Children Suécia, quando fui responsável pelas áreas temáticas Conflitos Armados e Desastres, bem como atuei como Assessor para Emergências daquela organização na América Latina e Caribe. Desde então, tenho trabalhado com estes temas como consultor, Assessor e capacitador junto a organizações nacionais (Brasil) e internacionais (especialmente o escritório regional para a América Latina e Caribe do PNUD, junto ao qual sou membro do grupo de Especialistas Associados). Os temas Sphere têm sido conteúdos constantes de meu trabalho nos últimos 20 anos. Atuei em projeto na área de educação, da Fundação Getúlio Vargas, como líder da equipe pedagógica. Atualmente, estou como Secretário Executivo de Educação do município de Camaragibe-PE, bem como sou membro da equipe técnica do Instituto Rodolfo e consultor independente em Gestão de Risco de Desastres e gestão e avaliação de políticas públicas e projetos sociais.)
