About Corneliu Tarus
Hello!
My name is Corneliu TARUS and I am from the Republic of Moldova.
In 2023 I successfully attended the initial SPHERE training and SPHERE ToT subsequently.
In April – August 2024, together with another SPHERE ToT fellow and IOM Moldova funding we provided 14 initial SPHERE two-days training sessions for over 160 frontline workers from public social protection services, local NGOs and local public administration in different regions of the Republic of Moldova.
I have a political science and public administration academical background and over 19 years of management expertise in the field of social protection, mostly in family and child protection and children rights, being responsible for policy, normative and institutional framework development in this area within the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection for 13 years. I was a Country Director for 3 years for the Changing The Way We Care Global Child Protection Initiative development and implementation in Moldova, and from April 2022 have been working as a Child Protection & Disability Inclusion Project Officer within the Protection Humanitarian and Development Program of the International Organization for Migration in Moldova (IOM). This organisation is strongly involved in supporting the affected population from Ukraine who is transiting or temporary staying in Moldova as a result of the full scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation.
