๐ Sphere organised an AI Literacy for Humanitarians workshop last week at the Microsoft office in Nairobi.
๐ฏ Our objectives: To discuss what it means to be AI literate in the humanitarian sector; to agree the key skills and knowledge this requires; to identify existing tools, materials and other resources; to discuss suitable learning approaches for different audiences; and to think about how to roll out AI literacy training in Kenya, East Africa, and beyond.
๐ Sphere is grateful to our hosts at Microsoft, Girmaw Abebe Tadesse and Najeeb G. Abdulhamid, PhD; to our facilitators, Sarah Spencer and Andrew Nzimbi; and to our invitees who contributed their energy and expertise to this interactive day!
โญ๏ธ Whatโs next? Based on our findings, Sphere and RedR UK will pilot some AI literacy training at HNPW. Find the session now at https://hnpw.org/ or look out for the flyer coming shortly.
๐ Download the event report now which includes detailed outcomes of plenary discussions and small group activities. If you are planning to organise training for humanitarians, these insights should help! AILiteracy
