Social Worker with a degree in Social Work from the Catholic University Silva Henriquez, with over 20 years of work experience in family intervention, humanitarian assistance and community management for disaster risk reduction.
Since 2010 to date, I work in Caritas Chile as head of the Environment, Risk Management and Emergencies Program. In addition, I am Regional Referent in the Risk Management and Integral Ecology Working Group of the Latin American and Caribbean Secretariat of Caritas (SELACC) and Regional Representative of Latin America and the Caribbean in the Humanitarian Committee of Caritas Internationalis.
From 2013 to July 2015 I served as executive secretary of the Chilean Humanitarian Aid Network – RAHCh and during the period 2020 to 2024 I was the National Focal Point in the Global Network of Civil Society for DRR (GNDR).
In 2011 I participated in the training workshop on the Humanitarian Charter and Minimum Standards for Humanitarian Response. In 2012 I participated in the CPC on the Sphere Project, both courses have been dictated in Santiago de Chile by Martin Villarroel and convened by the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations System. In the year 2021 I took the Training of Trainers course – SPHERE, online modality, given by RedR UK. Since 2012 I have participated as a facilitator, co-facilitator and resource person in workshops on SPHERE Manual given in Chile to professionals of Caritas Chile and Caritas Paraguay, civil society organizations, students of the SPHERE Intervention Standards course of the Master of Research and Management of Emergencies and Disasters of the University of Oviedo – Spain that is dictated in Chile through an agreement with Universidad Autónoma de Chile, students of the Humanitarian Aid course taught by the Joint Center for Peace Operations of Chile (CECOPAC). I have also conducted training sessions on Manual ESFERA for volunteers organized by the National Youth Institute (INJUV).
