New quality and accountability roadmap for field workers

CWS-P/A quality and accountability booklet

Presented as “a guide to the guides,” the publication’s target public are field practitioners who are keen to improve the quality and accountability of the humanitarian and/or development projects they manage.

In a user-friendly and practical manner, the booklet helps practitioners to navigate a variety of quality and accountability initiatives and tools. Its goal is to make easier for them to choose the appropriate tools at different stages of the project cycle.

As CWS-P/A puts is, “This booklet provides a practical roadmap to project cycle management and underlines how to incorporate quality and accountability right from the designing stage, highlighting which tools are available at each stage of the project life cycle.”

The publication is made up of three parts.

Operating Context highlights three fundamental aspects that field practitioners need to take into account: key humanitarian principles, the need to adapt the quality and accountability tools to local contexts and to strengthen the resilience of affected communities.

Common Quality and Accountability Tools contains key questions to guide field practitioners during the implementation of projects and to help them mainstream two sets of transversal tools throughout projects: core quality and accountability standards and cross-cutting issues.

Quality and Accountability Tools for Project Cycle Management provides concrete and straightforward guidance with specific examples of tools to implement quality and accountability at each phase of the project.

The publication is currently available in English, with translations into Urdu, Dari and French expected soon. CWS-P/A encourages translations into other languages.
