The training was attended by 25 individuals from 18 local and national non-governmental organizations in Ukraine.
During the training, participants went through 10 training modules in an interactive format.
As a result of the training, the participants learned that the “Sphere” combines many meanings, it is a movement, a community, a guide, and a project, but first and foremost, the “Sphere” is an approach to providing assistance to the affected population. The participants also learned that the main philosophy of the Sphere consists of two statements: people affected by emergencies or conflict have the right to a dignified life, and therefore have the right to assistance, and that all possible measures should be taken to alleviate the suffering of people caused by an emergency or conflict. The participants improved their knowledge and easily identify the areas of assistance included in the “Sphere” Guide, namely Food, Wash, Shelter, Health. It is also worth noting that most participants, at the end of the training, already correctly identified that the main goal of WASH programs within the framework of a humanitarian response is to reduce risks to public health by creating barriers to the transmission of infections. These examples speak about the assimilation of the material after the training.
