Description

Bikubusyo Consulting (BC), in partnership with Centre de Recherche JURISCONSULTE, CRJ in short (www.crjurisconsulte.org), has been working with Sphere since 2019. The founder of BC and CRJ, Symphorien, completed his Sphere Training of Trainers (ToT) in Nairobi in 2019, and oversaw translation of the Sphere Handbook (2018 edition) into Kikongo, Lingala, Tshiluba and Congo Swahili.

BC works to provide tools and expertise to local, national and international organizations, helping them to improve the quality of their programs through evaluation, research, training, partnership, strategic and quality support. In addition, BC supports organizations to promote and implement sustainable development and humanitarian standards.

BC plans to fulfill the role of a Sphere Focal Point by:

  • Helping local, national and international NGOs to implement Sphere;
  • Translating and updating existing translations were necessary;
  • Promoting the use of the Sphere Handbook with the country-based humanitarian organizations; and
  • Advocating with national authorities for the use of the Sphere standards in their humanitarian and disaster management policies.
