One year on, what insights have we gained from the aftermath of the devastating 7.7 and 7.6 magnitude earthquakes that struck Southeast Türkiye and bordering Syria on 6 and 7 February 2023?

These earthquakes represent two of the largest to have hit Türkiye in the last century, and one of the deadliest experienced by the country. The aftershocks impacted at least 10 provinces.

This session aims to facilitate the exchange of experiences and lessons learned by speakers involved in various phases of disaster management, from preparation and response to recovery and evaluation.

Together with Sphere community practitioners from different national and local organisations, we will delve into these crucial topics.
