The CHS custodians (CHS Alliance, Sphere and Groupe URD), with the support of ActionAid Kenya, are pleased to invite you to register your interest to attend the in-person CHS revision regional workshop for Southern & Eastern African region.

The Core Humanitarian Standard on Quality and Accountability (CHS) is currently under revision.

Over the past year, we have heard the views of individuals and organisations across the world. These insights, combined with more than eight years of learning and data from those applying the CHS, have informed the drafting of a strengthened standard.

This workshop is an opportunity for aid actors and community representatives in the Southern & Eastern African region to come together face to face and discuss the revised CHS draft to ensure it is a more accessible, relevant and user-friendly tool to drive better quality and accountability in humanitarian action.

Designed to be highly participatory, workshop attendees will:

• Learn about the consultation process
• Understand the feedback that is shaping the future of the standard
• Hear views of others including the learning from community consultations and any country case study conducted in their region
• Review and discuss the proposed elements of the revised CHS
• Indicate their level of agreement with the proposed text
• Share any other important considerations for the process

A detailed agenda will be shared closer to the event.

Who can join?
Individuals and organisational representatives involved in humanitarian action in the Southern & Eastern African region are invited to express their interest to attend this important event.

We also welcome representatives from civil society organisations and crisis affected communities, as well as those from donor agencies.

There is no fee to attend this event*.
