The Centre for Livelihoods & Humanitarian Support (CLHS) supports NGOs, INGOs, civil society leaders, practitioners and government agencies with capacity for implementing humanitarian assistance programs sustainably. It been doing this since 2010 and has trained hundreds of NGO staff on cash transfer programming, protection (child protection, refugee and IDP protection) and humanitarian response, particularly the Sphere standards and the companion standards of Sphere. We train directly through on-site events and through University short courses.
CLHS collaborates with UN agencies, Heads of agencies working in Zimbabwe and several local actors to develop appropriate capacity building programs for humanitarian actors. We are well placed to coordinate with these agencies as we have practical experience working with Sphere standards, including an adequate networks with both government agencies, NGOs, staff and other relevant institutions.
CLHS staff has been trained as Sphere trainers and has extensive experience in training and implementing humanitarian standards.
