Oliver has been developing, implementing and evaluating international projects for more than 20 years. Being a medical doctor by profession he further developed his knowledge on assessments, M&E and population studies for 2 years at the LSHTM and he has been working for more than 10 years in advising primary health care projects in humanitarian aid for a German INGO. This comprises preventive and curative health, nutrition and WASH, which enables Oliver to give a wide range of practical examples in these areas during his Sphere trainings. His practical experiences stem from previously setting up large scale projects in Africa and short-term consultancies in more than 10 humanitarian settings all over the world. Previous experience in training various groups (village development committees, staff of partner organisations/local authorities, in-house trainings, Sphere trainers in ToT’s) in Sphere, assessments, project planning and implementation do round up his profile.
Oliver is also a CHS approved Trainer (https://www.chsalliance.org/approved-training-scheme/oliver-hoffmann/) and a Sphere and a WASH in Emergencies ToT Trainer. He contributed to the development of various Sphere, CHS and WASH official training materials and publications. Currently, he is transferring his in-Person Training-Session-Plans to interactive virtual Formats having tested four of them already successfully in virtual regional WASH Trainings.
