Dr. Abdel Monem Daymi is an experienced professional with a diverse skill set encompassing academia, humanitarian aid, and volunteer management. He holds a PhD in Engineering and is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP). Dr. Daymi has been a dedicated practitioner in the humanitarian sector since 2011, accumulating a wealth of experience across various roles including Board Member, CEO, Country Director, Emergency Response Leader, International Fundraising Manager, and Director of Programs.
His academic journey encompasses over a decade as an Assistant Professor and researcher in different universities worldwide. Throughout his career, he has visited over 50 of the world’s most vulnerable countries.
With a focus on delivering impactful training sessions, Dr. Daymi’s expertise spans numerous areas within the humanitarian sector. He has facilitated training in Education, Livelihoods, WASH, Protection, Youth Empowerment, Emergency Response, Volunteer Management, Fund Development, Project Management, and NGO Governance & Leadership. His ability to tailor comprehensive training programs to suit the specific needs of diverse organizations reflects his deep understanding of the humanitarian landscape.
As a Sphere Standards (ToT), he played a pivotal role in organizing multiple Sphere training sessions in Canada. Notably, he collaborated with the Humanitarian Response Network and the Sphere Standards Secretariat, to organize Basic Sphere training and Sphere ToT Training and workshops.
Furthermore, with over two decades of experience in volunteer management, Dr. Daymi has designed and led international volunteering programs, including internships, volunteering abroad, and international medical missions. His active involvement and leadership roles within the Scouts, Red Crescent/Red Cross movements, and numerous other organizations at national and international levels underscore his commitment to service and volunteerism.
